Distribution

Over the past five years we have distributed furniture, food and clothing throughout the Wigan borough and surrounding areas. We can evidence every package that has been delivered.

We see our provision as short-term support; the first step on a pathway towards a sustainable solution. We work alongside people – helping them to help themselves to become independent.

Not only are Compassion in Action the only 5* accredited distribution centre in the North West, we also deliver the furniture, food and clothes at no cost to the client.

If you require a referral for support with furniture, food or clothing please contact your local Life Centre.

What We Do

Food

Our 5* accredited food distribution is where we prepare our hampers. Every hamper we provide includes fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, toiletries and nutritious meals and is tailored to meet the needs of the specific individual or family. They are designed to last up to a month.

Clothing

We provide clothing packages to adults and children of all ages through a process of referral. Clients in an emergency situation, who only have the clothes they are wearing due to reasons such as homelessness or house fire, are treated as a matter of urgency. The clothing we provide is sourced from various partners worldwide and consists of new stock in a range of styles and sizes. All our delivery and collections team have achieved the relevant qualifications including safeguarding training as they deliver to clients’ homes.

Furniture

All the furniture packages we provide are designed to meet the needs of a specific individual or family. They include essential items that someone with no means of support may need to start a new tenancy independently. Furniture is assembled prior to delivery at our distribution centre. All the furniture we deliver is cleaned and checked prior to delivery to ensure that we provide the best quality of service to those in need.

Decorating

We provide a decorating service at competitive rates. The wider impact of this service has given a long-term unemployed person full-time employment and progress in his NVQ Level 2. We have also given an apprenticeship to our youngest member of the team.

Both young people are professional, provide a first-class service and are committed to achieving their goals. They have both completed Health and Safety, First Aid and Safeguarding training. Please contact us on 01942 418830 for a quote and help young people to achieve!
