Over 300 Easter eggs donated to Compassion in Action’s annual appeal

More than 300 Easter eggs were donated to Compassion in Action’s (CIA) annual appeal – thanks to the generosity of the Leigh community.

With substantial support from Leigh Centurions RLFC and SuperLeigh, the 2022 appeal also had the backing of Spinning Gate Shopping Centre, Nationwide Building Society, Costa Coffee and NatWest, as well as Leigh residents.

In a coordinated delivery effort, eggs were gifted to Wigan Council’s Start Well Family Centres, Bamber Court Mother & Baby Unit, Westleigh Messy Church and local families in need.

Pam Gilligan, CEO of CIA, said: “I believe that Easter is a time for celebration and reflection. At Compassion in Action, we celebrate the generosity of our local community and reflect on how best we can meet the needs of our most vulnerable local families.

‘On behalf of all our staff and volunteers, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who made 2022 one of our most successful Easter Egg Appeals to date. You are all wonderful and we appreciate you so much – especially as we recognise that the cost of living crisis is being felt in many households across our borough.”
