Egg donations invited to Compassion in Action’s Easter Appeal 2022

01/03/2022

COMPASSION in Action (CIA) – and its official partners Leigh Centurions RFLC and SuperLeigh – are inviting egg donations for their annual Easter Appeal, which is now in its thirteenth year.

Vulnerable families who have been referred to the charity by local agencies will receive an egg for each child during a delivery effort that is set to take place on Good Friday (15 April).

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Leigh Centurions, SuperLeigh and all its members, our local businesses and organisations, and the community of Leigh for their ongoing support with our annual Easter Appeal,” said CEO Pam Gilligan.

“Donations made ensure that the Easter Bunny can visit young people in the most vulnerable families in our community.”

Residents or local businesses who wish to get behind the appeal are asked to drop off Easter eggs at either the Leigh Centurions ticket office – located at Leigh Sports Village – or the Leigh Centurions retail outlet on Leigh Market prior to Friday, 8 April.

SuperLeigh Assistant Manager Jonathan Simpkin said: “The work that Compassion in Action do within our local community is nothing short of amazing. They are constantly helping not just families but a wide spectrum of people from vulnerable adults to ex-service personnel. The team and facilities they have at their disposal are second to none. I would urge anyone who can do so to donate what they can to help put a smile on a child’s face this Easter.”
