Hundreds of eggs donated to Compassion in Action’s Annual Easter Appeal
A total of 494 Easter Eggs were distributed to vulnerable local families by Compassion in Action during Easter 2023.
Dozens of eggs were donated by the charity’s amazing supporters such as PGL Pipelines; Nationwide Building Society; ASDA Leigh; Leigh Leopards; and SuperLeigh members, as well as our valued veterans.
In addition to individual families, other beneficiaries included youngsters attending Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s multi-activity holiday camps, and patients on E5 Children’s Ward at Royal Bolton Hospital.
Our CEO Pam Gilligan said: “We are so blessed by the fantastic support we receive all year round from our wonderful partners, who value the work we undertake in the community. This Easter has been no exception, with hugely generous donations of chocolate eggs arriving daily throughout Easter Week at our Patrick House headquarters. We are grateful to all those who helped us to help others during our annual appeal.”
The distribution operation was carried out by staff and volunteers, who travelled across the borough to ensure every child referred to us had a egg to open on Easter Sunday.
