Compassion in Action’s CEO expresses heartfelt thanks to Leigh community for Easter Project support

28/03/2024

Ahead of Good Friday, Compassion in Action’s CEO Pam Gilligan has expressed her heartfelt thanks to the community of Leigh for their wonderful support in aid of the charity’s annual Easter Project.

“From shoppers who have made individual donations at supermarkets, to local businesses who have delivered dozens of eggs to our headquarters at Patrick House, our amazing supporters have shown that we are ‘Stronger Together’,” said Pam.

“Thanks to the support and belief of our amazing community, year on year, we have been able to once again help hundreds of vulnerable families that have been referred to our charity feel included in the joy of Easter.”

In a borough-wide delivery operation, all donations have been distributed ahead of Easter weekend – including to the children’s wards at Royal Bolton Hospital and Wigan Infirmary.

“I would especially like to thank John Asiata, Captain of Leigh Leopards, who made a personal visit to Bamber Court to deliver an Easter breakfast hamper and chocolate eggs to the mothers and their babies,” added Pam. “As always, Leigh Leopards players, staff and their fans have been outstanding in their generous backing of this year’s project – ensuring its success.

‘On behalf of everyone at Compassion in Action, I would like to wish everyone a blessed Easter.”
