Compassion in Action is named ‘Charity Business of the Year’ at Chamber’s Excellence Awards
Compassion in Action had the very great honour of being presented with the ‘Charity Business of the Year’ trophy at the 2024 Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards.
The prestigious awards, now in their fourth year, recognise organisations, leaders and teams who have demonstrated success within their industries and communities.
Our specific category was designed to celebrate registered charities that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to making a positive impact on society – something we have achieved through the provision of whole-person care across the four key pillars of Practical, Physical, Social and Mental support.
The ceremony at Manchester’s Albert Hall marked the end of an historic week for our charity, after Board representatives joined leading figures from across the Commonwealth in the Cloisters of Westminster Abbey to attend the official launch of a new book marking the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Nations.
Compassion in Action is an official partner of ‘The Commonwealth at 75’ – a commemorative publication produced by The History of Parliament and St. James’s House. Our charity was selected for inclusion in the ‘Health and Wellbeing’ chapter, celebrating the impact of our support network on the Commonwealth and highlighting our collaboration with Edwin Ipape of Leigh Leopards to support street projects in his home nation of Papua New Guinea.
‘The Commonwealth at 75′ is the third publication produced by St. James’s House to feature the charity. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to championing the Borough both nationally and internationally.
