Compassion in Action ‘honoured’ to receive Excellence Badge from Greater Manchester Chamber

The inaugural GMCC Excellence Awards – created and hosted by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce – saw Compassion in Action receive an Excellence Badge in recognition of their efforts during 2021.

The charity was shortlisted at the awards alongside a number of regional businesses in one of five specific categories – comprising ‘Entrepreneurial Success’, ‘Exporting Excellence’, ‘Green and Sustainable Strategy’, ‘Business Diversification’ and ‘Diversity and Inclusion’.

“We are honoured to have received an Excellence Badge as finalists in the first ever GMCC Awards,” said Compassion in Action’s CEO Pam Gilligan. “I would like to thank the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Wigan Council, our staff, volunteers, the local business community and our patrons for their support and belief in us.

‘The charity also offers its heartfelt congratulations to all the category winners at this year’s awards. We are proud to have been considered alongside them. Finally, thank you so much to our hosts for a wonderful evening and for their hospitality.”

The awards were headline sponsored by Biffa and held at the Chamber’s offices in Elliot House, Deansgate on 28 October. They were launched to showcase and celebrate the business achievements and resilience of Chamber members across all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester – highlighting organisations, leaders and teams who have demonstrated success within their industries and local communities.
